SWEET SUMMER BLUE
LOCATION: DALLAS, TX • June 26, 2017
With the fourth of July right around the corner (8 days!) I’m prepping for the all american celebration by sharing a few easy outfits with you all that can be transformed into red, white and blue looks. A sweet baby blue and white look has been on my mind since early spring, so for today’s fourth of July inspired look I figured sweet summer blue is a good place to start and I’m certainly not lacking in this category (here, here, here and here). While it’s fun to go out and buy some trendy red, white and blue attire that is full of stars and stripes, I’ve found that I tend to only wear those items once before they end up in the back of my closet. Instead I opt for looks that can easily be made in to the festive combo but that I will re-wear even after the fourth. I grabbed this sweet summer blue off the shoulder top that has beautiful embroidered lace details that add a hint of crisp white to the top. The fabric is sheer, lightweight and very breathable. I paired it with a classic pair of white denim to create a simple summer look that can truly be worn over and over.
In order to create a feminine, fun fourth of July combo with this blue and white look add in some touches of crisp red like a swipe of red lipstick, or some red sunglasses like these, these or these. Swap in my favorite neutral heels for the red suede version or grab these red strap slides for a more casual feel. Another way to add in some red to your favorite blue and white look is to grab a bright accent bag like this crossbody that’s only $40 or this one or even this backpack if you’re heading to a barbecue or park outing to watch fireworks.
