Everyday Make-Up Routine
LOCATION: FORT WORTH, TX • April 27th, 2020
I typically wear make-up everyday for work and I prefer a natural yet full coverage look. I always get so many compliments/questions on my eyeshadow which is the most affordable product I use! I finally got around to creating a full post on all the products and shades I wear which is all detailed below! I also did a get ready with me post over on IG Stories if you want to watch that here under my GRWM highlight. Thanks so much for stopping by, xx!
1. Tula Moisturizer/ Primer
The very first thing I use to start my makeup routine is my Tula Moisturizer followed by Tula Face Filter Blurring Primer. This primer has been one of my favorites for a while now, I love the blurring effect that it has on larger pores and gives an overall flawless effect prior to applying foundation. Another primer I have liked for the same effects and at a lower price point is the e.l.f. Poreless Face Primer.
When it comes to foundation there’s two that I switch in-between. For this look I used the Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation. It’s a lightweight, waterproof formula resists workout sessions, high temperatures and humidity while the pigment creates a smooth and natural look. I’m in shade 1.5N and I like the buildable coverage that still gives a natural hydrated/dewy coverage. I also love Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation. What I love about Double Wear is that is does NOT budge, it really does stay all day and lasts without breaking up or cracking throughout the day. It’s oil free and oil controlling which makes it great for oily to combination skin and leaves a matte finish which makes it hard to wear for those with dry skin so in the winter months I can’t wear it as much.
This is a step I can not live without. I naturally have dark circles around my under eye area, thanks dad! 😉 Currently, I use iT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Eyelift In A Tube it gives great coverage and is easy to apply and blend with my beauty blender. I use the shade ‘light’. Another lower price point concealer I like is Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer.
I always get so many compliments on my eyeshadow on a regular basis and everyone is shocked when I tell them I use such an affordable product, under $5!! To be honest I first learned how to do eyeshadow with this palette and still love it all these years later. Even though it is a lower price point the colors are just as creamy and pigmented as some of the higher priced eyeshadows available. Lately I’ve been combining it with this liquid eyeshadow in shade ‘kitten’ to add a hint more of shimmer but both are beautiful used alone too.
For my top lid and to create a dramatic or subtle cat eye I use this NYX liquid liner. It helps me create a precise line quickly and easily. On my lower lash line I smudge this pencil directly below my lashes not on the actual water line! I can not emphasize this enough because in my teenage years I did apply it on my water line but as I’ve gotten older Ive realized how much smaller it made my eyes look and definitely aged me in not the best way. By smudging some color below your lashes and leaving your water line fresh it really opens up your eyes, giving a bright, youthful look.
6. Pressed Powder
Bye Bye Pores Pressed Anti-Aging Finishing Powder is my favorite translucent powder because it gives a poreless and smooth finish to help set the liquid foundation and concealer.
7. Blush / Bronzer
I received this blush as a sample in a previous Sephora order and have loved it ever since. I use shade Seduce which is a rosy nude. I also have been wanting this Blush, Bronzer & Highlighter Palette that also has some really pretty colors in it. As for bronzer, Nars has been my favorite for years and I love how well it blends without looking muddy or chalky. I also recently purchased this cream bronzer that I’m excited to try out.
This has been my ride or die mascara for yearssss! I have tried cheaper options and other brands and continue to come back to this formula. I love the brush to keep my lashes from clumping and it gives a full and lengthen effect. I always get compliments on my lashes when I wear it!
My brows use to be micro bladed years ago but I never kept up with my touch up sessions mostly because of the expensive but I highly recommend microblading! It really frames your face when you have no makeup or minimal makeup on and I definitely want to get mine redone eventually. Since I don’t have them done currently I use a combination of this or this brow pencil and this gel to keep them in place.
10. Lip liner/ Lipstick
