2019: MY WORD OF THE YEAR
LOCATION: DALLAS, TX • January 9th, 2018
I’ve been noticing lots of talk this year about, “the word” of the year and I jumped on the bandwagon. I love the idea that one word you choose embodies all your overall goals for the whole year and doesn’t necessarily have an exact link to resolutions that tend to fizzle out before March but more so goals I want to accomplish. So without further ado my word is…’simplify’. For me this word translates well to multiple areas of my life that all could use some simplifying! I tend to generate tons of fun, creative ideas even here when it comes to my blog and then I get so wrapped up in so many options I fail to just get it done! Which is why I slacked on posting towards the end of the year. So ‘simplifying’ is definitely something that I could brush-up on. When it comes to my blog and posting on Instagram I’m working on simplifying my content, trying not to over think the perfect angle, the perfect lighting and sharing more day to day snap shots of my looks even if it means it’s not ‘perfect’.
Simplifymake (something) simpler or easier to do or understand.”
The word simplify fits into many areas of my life including my goal to simplify my work and social life balance as well as financial goals I have for the upcoming year. Overall all the word, ‘simplify’ is becoming my intention in everything I do and making life more enjoyable in every aspect opposed to over thinking or over complicating the unnecessary. What are some of your goals for the new year, what word is resonating with you?
